Ingredifind - 90 Days In - How Are Your New Year's Resolutions Going?

Was January the month that you set New Year’s resolutions by starting a new diet or thinking about change? The first few months of the year are often a time when you look at your health and wellbeing and set out to make changes.

But 90 days in have you stuck to your goals? Rather than setting yourself something that may be difficult for you to achieve, try looking at more realistic goals to help you feel better about yourself.

Try the SMART approach — Small, Manageable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely.

Diet

· Instead of starting a new “fad” diet — simply make your diet healthier by adding more fruit, vegetables, fish, lean meats and plant based foods to your weekly menu

· Cut down on your sugary food and drink. Too much sugar in your diet can not only lead to weight gain, but also affects the way your pancreas produces insulin, increasing your risk of Type 2 Diabetes

· Use your freezer as your friend and cook more than you usually do. You can then portion these into containers, and you are ready to have a healthy meal in minutes when you don’t really want to cook

· Try making delicious and tasty vegetable soups. You can add any left over vegetables, beans, lentils, spinach, watercress, onion and garlic for a dish packed with essential nutrients

· Instead of eating your fruit cold — why not slice and warm it up. Good choices are apples, fresh/frozen berries, pineapple or orange. These can easily be frozen so you have them to hand

· Try swapping one of your snacks high in far, sugar and salt to a healthier option. By simply swapping 1 or 2 sugary snacks can really make a difference to a healthier you

· Keep your body hydrated and drink more water. Your body is mostly made up of water — nearly two thirds — so it’s important to aim for 6 to 8 glasses a day. Try having a glass of water, instead of a fizzy drink or coffee for example. Add fresh fruit to your water to change the flavour. Hydration is needed for your heart and circulation, digestion, for temperature control and for our brain to work well

Exercise

· Go outdoors as much as you can during daylight hours and embrace nature. A short walk or cycle ride is not only good for your body, but exercise helps to release endorphins and contributes towards a better mood and wellbeing

· If you are unable to go outdoors then make sure you have plenty of indoor plants. They not only look nice, but research has found that a friendly bacteria in plant soil (Mycobaterium Vaccae) triggers the release of serotonin, that can help alleviate symptoms of low mood and depression

· Variety is important, so take up a new hobby that you really enjoy — you are more likely to stick to it if it’s something that makes you happy

Remember you have a whole new year to make changes, so treat your New Year as a marathon — rather than a sprint.

An Interview with Jessica and Nisha Stockmann of Villa Monaco - Why Always Sons and Not Daughters?

Club Vivanova Interviews Jessica and Nisha Stockmann - Why Always Sons and Not Daughters?

Jessica, you founded and run a company together with your daughter. What is special for you about working together with your daughter?
I can have a very honest exchange with my daughter. Nisha has her incredibly good taste and her very own ideas and of course I have mine, but we cross-fertilise each other and don't slow each other down. Not only did she study architecture and spatial design, she also grew up in several countries and cultures and therefore thinks very internationally and is part of the new, young generation, the generation Z that values completely different things.

Nisha, you work with your mother. A good feeling?
So far, yes! But if things were to change, we would find a way. I learned from my mother that there are always solutions, so I have no fears that we could clash professionally. Our recipe for peaceful and successful coexistence is communication, and that has always been a top priority in the Stockmann family.

Did you have to set up rules in advance, along the lines of separating private and business matters?
We don't need any new rules. My mother always had a lot of respect for the younger generation and therefore took me into the team on an equal footing. She often tells me that she can learn a lot from me. I studied spatial design and my mother is more of a self-made woman. So we complement each other very well and are not in competition with each other.

Many young women have little desire to keep close ties to their parents even after their education. What is different with you?
My grandmother was super close with my great-grandmother, my mother was inseparable with her mother, that somehow seems to run through the family and I am super happy that it is so.

Jessica, your company is called Stockmann. Why not Stockmann & Daughters?
I thought long and hard about calling us Stockmann & Daughters, but I didn't want to put pressure on my two daughters to work with me one day. My big daughter Nisha decided on her own, but my little daughter Nicita is only 18 and started university. She is studying Media & communication management.

She should be free to decide where her career path might take her. In our projects, we run under Stockmann³ because we see the cubic metre and thus the whole space and not just the square metre. And the 3 actually also stands for 3 generations. Our desire is to create spaces in which three generations also feel comfortable.

It is noticeable that there are hardly any companies that have a "& Daughters" in their name instead of the familiar "& Sons". Do you have an explanation for this?
There are certainly historical reasons for this. Daughters did not enter the workforce in the past and even fewer took over family businesses. In the past, a woman was responsible for the household and the children, not for the company. In 1920, women were not even allowed to study in Germany and 100 years later, a minority of companies are still run by women.

To set an example, I would actually have to call my company Stockmann & Töchter, but that would create immense pressure on my girls. And what will we do when a grandson comes into the house? The poor boy might need his place too (laughs).

What drives you in your joint activities?
(Jessica) - Above all, we enjoy our projects and divide our tasks very well. Of course, there is a moment in every project when you feel like throwing everything away, but we like to take responsibility, a virtue that is often dying out, so once we start a project, we see it through to the end. Only when there is a bouquet of flowers on the table and at least one candle burning is the project ready to move in.

Jessica, you are still known above all for your acting and your moderations. How did you get into real estate?
After 15 very successful years in show business, I became a mother and a short time later I was a completely unplanned single parent. I was looking for a solution that would allow me to be a mother and earn money to give my daughters and me a good life with the best education. I was looking for a new challenge that would allow me to travel less and, above all, spend more time with my children.
The construction industry seemed more mother-friendly than the TV industry, which involves many night shoots and long journeys. Not knowing that as a woman I was entering a total male domain, I took out very large loans and began to buy and renovate properties with the corresponding risk. My business studies helped me with the calculations, and my father was and still is my great advisor. I wanted to create, but no longer in front of the camera and created new stages for myself with my building sites, which I now directed. All of a sudden I was producer, director and actor in one, but on the construction site.

What qualifications did you have to acquire to be successful in the luxury real estate segment?
(
Jessica) - I constantly and always have my eyes open. In every restaurant, hotel or airport - I look everywhere to see which materials have been processed and how. In the luxury segment, it's all about quality that lasts 100 years. But we also have to know exactly what is "in" and trendy at the moment. Of course, working with Nisha is worth its weight in gold. She knows exactly what the young target group wants. I, on the other hand, know what the 30-70-year-old customers value. The best thing is to come up with something that doesn't yet exist. Customers pay more for luxury than for standard, but their demands are disproportionately high. Just "chic" is not enough. It has to be sustainable, elegant, modern and yet traditional with various design highlights.

And do you like to take risks professionally?
Of course, I would prefer a safe business without risk, but that's hardly possible. Every success requires courage, but my investments have never really felt courageous to me because I was so sure I was doing the right thing. In retrospect, I often realised how brave I was.

Nisha, you started studying architecture with the specific focus of working together with your mother?
No, to be honest, that's how it turned out. Even as a 6-year-old, I preferred building entire cities and hotels with Lego to playing with dolls. My mother often tried to make me like Barbie, but to no avail. All I ever wanted to do was build. During my studies I made various plans, sketches and mood boards for my mother. At some point she started handing me the Excel spreadsheets and said: "Since you're not studying business, I'll explain to you on the basis of our real estate how it looks with the somewhat boring, uncreative things, because just being creative is often not enough to understand the context". Before I knew it, I was helping her prepare the tax returns. My mother cleverly offloaded that onto me - (laughs).

What makes a nice property for both of you?
(Jessica) - Location is important and the property or plot has to feel good from the start, no matter what condition it is in. Our goal is that you feel so comfortable in the finished property that you don't want to leave it rain or shine. Accordingly, we build, renovate and design.

How do you proceed when you find a property that is exciting for you?
(Jessica) - The most difficult thing is "finding". We search daily, keep our ears open and work with various estate agents. Somehow it's just like with interpersonal relationships. They don't just lie around on the street. But when it "clicks", everything often happens very quickly. When we fall in love with a property, everything happens at breakneck speed. We try to look at the property several times, and film and photograph it, in order to later highlight the advantages and resolve the disadvantages.
Then we get a surveyor, and after that comes the loan. Once that's in place, we go to the notary and as soon as we're registered in the land register, we tear out the first walls and the fun begins (both laugh).

An Upcoming Zachys Auction - 17th March 2023 - Rare & Refined Wines & Spirits

Rare & Refined Wines & Spirits
Thursday, 16 March at 7pm GMT (2pm EST) (3am HKT on 17 March)

View the pdf presentation

The Zachys Europe team are kicking off the 2023 season with a delightful sale.

A curated and focused sale on the best--it more than makes up for its length with the superb quality within. The best things come in small packages, as the saying goes. Size is not always the arbiter of greatness, and greatness there is in this delicious collection of fine wines.

We begin with the Executive Cellar Part XVII, a collection so vast it is beginning to challenge our knowledge of Roman Numerals. We then go into numerous collections of fine Claret—both of the First Growth variety, and just about everything else, including Le Pin in OWC and plenty of super seconds.

There is Champagne, and then there is Champagne, and boy do we have some very special Champagne in our sale. Super rare Krug is something I am sure will get the heart racing—1990, 1995 in magnum, 1996 vintage and Clos d’Ambonnay and a jaw-dropping selection of old Clos du Mesnil. We’ve also got one of the largest offerings of that pre-phylloxera great the Vieilles Vignes Francaises from Bollinger.

Don’t worry, there’s Burgundy, too, from DRC, Engel, Dugat-Py and others, as well as everything from Donnhoff to German Pinot (!), Pingus, Quintarelli, Tokaji, and what has to be the first in a Zachys auction catalog: New Zealand Pinot Noir.

And not to be forgotten, we have some outstanding sprits too. The yellow & green magic that is Chartreuse makes a very welcome return, alongside some rambunctious rums, American and Japanese Whiskies and more!

This is going to be a great sale, so get your paddles ready...

This auction will be held “live online,” with a live feed of the auctioneer.

Metabolic Balance Health - Herbs and Spices - the Pharmacy of Nature

HERBS & SPICES - THE PHARMACY OF NATURE

When it hurts, we often reach for the next best medicine. We often don't know which active ingredient we're taking, not to mention the side effects. But to be honest - we don't want to know as long as it helps!

However, the things that really promote health can be found in nature!

We are only too willing to take expensive dietary supplements that deliver supposedly valuable but isolated active ingredients from selected foods: Curcumin from turmeric, resveratrol from grape seeds or DHA (omega-3 fatty acids) from algae or fish oil, to name just a few. They should lead to more well-being, strengthen the immune system and act against inflammation.

Nature, on the other hand, provides foods with a wealth of active ingredients, such as antioxidants, essential oils or omega-3 fatty acids, which – embedded in the natural food mix – occur in such a way that we can optimally use their health potential.
Especially herbs and spices impress with their richness in nutrients.

No wonder that in ancient times many wars were fought over herbs and spices, and in search of them new countries have been discovered. But why should people fight over herbs and spices? What makes them so valuable?

They contain so-called phytonutrients. These are secondary plant substances or essential oils, which are extraordinarily healthy. The high proportion of antioxidants, which fight dangerous free radicals in the body very effectively, also makes the seasoning ingredients so valuable.

Even the smallest amounts keep us mentally fit, strengthen the immune system, support fat burning, have a positive effect on blood sugar levels and boost the metabolism. For example, oregano stimulates appetite, coriander is considered to strengthen the stomach and helps with fullness. Dill and basil soothe the nerves, parsley and tarragon dehydrate - to name just a few examples.
To date, not all effects have been scientifically proven in studies. Much of it is based on traditional applications and has been successfully used for many health purposes for centuries. Hildegard von Bingen and many other persons skilled in the art of healing, who have studied herbs and spices, have used and still use the healing powers of spices and herbs for health benefits.

Tip: Season and refine your dishes with a wide variety of spices and herbs and thus absorb an additional portion of valuable vital substances for more well-being and vitality every day.

Diving into the Exquisite Cuisine of the French Riviera with Jasmine Scheer

Diving into the exquisite cuisine of the French Riviera with Jasmine Scheer

Located on France`s southeast coast is a stunning area referred to as the Cote d’Azur. The region is renowned for its pristine beaches, glamorous cities and vibrant culture. The food of the French Riviera, however, is one facet of its culture that is frequently disregarded. The cuisine of the region combines French and Mediterranean elements to provide a variety of meals. This article will explore some of the regional cuisines of the Cote d’Azur.

A very popular sweet in the French Riviera is Nougat. It has been brought to France from Greece around the 17th century (ProvenceHolidays). It is most commonly comprised of egg, honey, sugar and nuts. Furthermore, it has a sweet taste, with nuts adding a little crunch to the usually soft texture.

Another well-known dish, especially in Nice, is called Socca (TasteAtlas). The primary ingredient is chickpea flour, as well as some olive oil, salt and pepper. Socca is baked in a large round baking dish. Its texture is similar to that of a thick pancake or an omelet. When being served, the large circle gets cut up into smaller pieces. It can be found around the streets of Nice and is usually consumed all by itself.

A food you have certainly already heard of, if not only thanks to a very skilled little mouse, is Ratatouille. In the 18th century it used to be considered as food for the poor (Wasserstrom, 2022). Nowadays it has turned into one of the most famous dishes around the French Riviera. It is a stew made out of aubergines, courgette, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, olive oil and herbs.

One dessert you will most likely frequently spot around St. Tropez is the Tarte Tropézienne. It was created in 1955 by a pastry chef called Alexandre Micka. The cake is essentially a large orange flavored brioche bun, sprinkled with sugar and filled with the so-called Madame cream. This cream is a mix of beaten butter and pastry cream (Eva, 2018).

Additionally, the French Riviera is known for sweets called Calissons. The famous dessert is rumored to have been created by a royal chef around the 15th century (Yang, 2022). It is comprised of almonds, crystallized melon, honey, orange flavoring and icing on top. The taste and texture of Calissons is very similar to marzipan. They also make the perfect gift for a friend or family member, if you have just returned from your trip to the French Riviera.

Meringue is another common dish to be found around the Cote d’Azur. Even though many countries have different ways of preparing Meringue, the French way is often considered as the traditional one (Killeen). It only has two ingredients, namely egg whites and sugar. When biting into one of the white delicacies you will notice that they instantly dissolve in your mouth, leaving the sweet taste of the sugar behind.

The French Riviera is a popular destination for its stunning cities and beaches. But the great food offered by the Cote d’Azur cannot be left unspoken of. If you ever find yourself in one of the beautiful cities in the southeast of France, consider trying one of the many great dishes the area has to offer.

The Corporate Chef Shahar hails from Israel, but it is in the United States of America that he developed his savoir-faire. In 1999, his career takes a start within the top international restaurants and makes him discover the world of contemporary new-styled Japanese cuisine. A few years later, his career led him to the most exclusive dining places in Monaco. ” I had never eaten sushi in my life ” he said once. We can now relate that this time is over. Chef Shahar, remaining true to the quintessence of the Japanese cuisine, will sublimate your culinary experience at THE NIWAKI, ultimate Japanese destination in Monte-Carlo.”

Where were you born and at what age did you start in the food and beverage industry? How were you first attracted to the food and beverage industry?
I was born in Israel and moved to New York City when I was around 30. I fell in love with a woman who was into food. It inspired me so I started watching food channels and cooking by myself before enrolling in the French culinary institute in Broadway, New York.

What are the most important aspects to running an efficient kitchen?
To have a good staff on which I can rely on.

How has COVID affected the restaurant industry?
I believe COVID has strongly affected the restaurant industry in its quintessence which is to be immersed by an experience from the moment you walk in the restaurant, until the time you leave.  However, I reckon COVID crisis has developed another type of service which was not that common in the South of France until then: delivery and take away. Fortunately, after the crisis, when everything went back to normal, people started enjoying good food in beautiful restaurant settings again.

What’s your next planned opening?
We have several projects in mind, however we keep it secret for now (laughs)

Where is your favourite country for a food experience?
Japan and Italy are my favourite countries for food experience as their cuisine is very rich and offers a wide variety of dishes and techniques.

Your favourite dish to cook at home?

I grew up in a Moroccan house, so my all-time favourite dish is couscous which is a traditional dish in Morroco.

What advice would you give to a young person interested in a career in the kitchen?
"Love what you do, be precise and don’t turn right or left on the way to achieving your dream - go straight there. Even if it’s difficult, work for it, don’t complain and don’t cry because in the end you will make it".

Your favourite food and beverage pairing?

Hamburger and beer is a must! (laughs)

A favourite quotation / saying that helps you survive this crazy world?
When you have goals in life, you then have something to reach everyday.

A Journey Through the Lilac Lavender Fields of Provence with Giulia Garello

Imagine that it is June, the summer vacations have just started, and the sun is shining with its most stunning tints. The temptation to plan a weekend far from the city is becoming more and more intense due to the lengthy days and the increasing heat. Many of you are unaware that now is the ideal time to travel to the Provence Alpe Côte d'Azur region. This region, which is in the southern part of the French territory, has a wonderful temperature and is convenient to both the sea and the mountains, making it a great place for anybody who enjoys both.

Long walks in the highlands, historic medieval villages located on vast swaths of hilly terrain, and hidden coves all make up this beautiful region. From the end of June to the end of August, there is something even more unique and fascinating to see: the vast fields of lavender that are in bloom and fill the air with their sweet fragrance. There are several varieties, but lavender and lavandino are the two that are most common. The second, which has a noticeably bigger look and is more prevalent in the plains, is the one that is most common in this region and is  the one from which fragrances and cosmetics items are made with. The first, which is little, is easier to locate in the mountains.

Several itineraries have been previously established and to which many visitors refer, but just one of them has been chosen for this article, focused on a stay of luxury and complete relaxation.

A great Relais & Chateaux that offers a wonderful stay to detach from the frantic daily life and get back in touch with nature can be found in the town of Mane, an hour from Aix en Provence and an hour and a half from Saint-Rémy de Provence (a vital region for lavender cultivation). You might explore the area and take in its beauty and wonder, such as the tiny stone-built town from the eleventh century, thanks to its  proximity to the historic center. Just outside the center, you can admire two architectural pearls of inestimable value such as the priory of Salagon and the castle of Sauvan.

Due to the creation of the garden at the French Embassy, the latter in reality most recently received the designation in 2022 as a "Living Historical Monument" (still nearing completion). For historical reasons, they have really been abandoned and destroyed for years, and it is only now that the current owners seem to have noticed the previous magnificence. Even though it is a private residence (you may request it to organize private events), its depositaries welcome visitors and share these incredibly lovely places with them.

Even the hotel, which also is located on a hill close to the town of Mane, is an older building.  It was a convent in 1600, but it has since received a thorough modernization while preserving its original medieval structure. There are tennis and golf courts, a swimming pool where you may cool down during the sweltering summer days, and a spa where "le Occitane" products are used.

In order to aid and support the local activity of farmers who cultivate it, this brand was established in 1976 in this region surrounded by lavender plantations (the primary scent of the brand that analyzes all the components according to aromatherapy). In order to guarantee the use of quality natural ingredients and a sustainable supply, they pay special attention to how their goods are made.

According to a statement from one of their partners, Jean Boenle, "Our firm specializes in the creation of premium lavender PDO" (Protected Designation of Origin - AOC). We purchase seeds that have been approved by the French Institute of Aromatic, Medicinal, and Aromatic Plants in order to produce this variety of lavender from seeds. In contrast to hybrid and clonal lavender which are developed from cuttings, we cultivate our plants. In order to transfer seedlings into our fields, we sow in greenhouses. We are quite sure about the source of our lavender.

Therefore, choosing to stay at the Relais would allow you to fully appreciate this product because not only would you be close  and be able to see the source of the raw material with your own eyes, but you would also be testing it out on yourself to have a 360-degree experience.

Detox with Metabolic Balance - Health Begins in the Intestine

Detox with Metabolic Balance
Health begins in the intestine!

Any toxin or harmful substance that cannot be rendered harmless in the bowel, e.g. because the intestinal flora is damaged, reaches the liver via the portal vein. Thus, the liver must take over and assume this detoxification. So, in order not to overload the liver, we should ensure a healthy bowel. If this is not the case and if the intestinal wall is damaged, it urgently needs to recover - by an intestinal cleansing.

If we are planning an excursion or a business trip by car, we find out in advance where there might be traffic jams and what detour options are available so that we can reach our destination as quickly as possible. But there is no alternative for the food we ingest. The path is always the same: from the mouth via the esophagus to the stomach, into the intestines and then into the blood. To avoid "traffic jams", there is only one real alternative in the metabolic process: Taking care of the main artery, the intestine, relieving it and nourishing it in a healthy way.

How to best prepare the intestine
In order to build up the intestinal flora in a targeted manner, it is not sufficient to simply consume foods with probiotic or prebiotic ingredients or additives. A basic prerequisite for both a healthy bowel and a healthy intestinal flora is a thorough and gentle bowel cleansing in order to prepare an optimal living environment for the bacteria.

Bacteria only settle permanently in the bowel when they feel comfortable and when the environment provides what they need. Short-term cleansing can be achieved by taking Epsom salts, high-dose magnesium sulfate, or by clysterizing by means of an enema. However, you should not leave it at that. If you want to support, cleanse and regenerate your bowel in the long term, you should regularly consume natural foods, preferably ground flaxseed and ground psyllium. These two "bowel helpers" do not only cleanse, they also stimulate intestinal peristalsis and prevent constipation.

How to efficiently cleanse the intestine
Eliminating toxins from the body is a long process. Detoxification takes place mainly with fasting cures. However, you can also stimulate the entire metabolism by a thorough change in diet with regular modest exercise; this helps to even boost the detoxification intensity of your organism.

Intestinal cleansing reduces pathogenic bacteria and fungi and causes health-promoting intestinal bacteria to multiply more easily. Improving the intestinal flora also strengthens the intestinal mucosa. Optimally working digestive organs and the right amount of digestive juices are an essential prerequisite for favorable bowel bacteria to settle in the intestine; thus, a healthy intestinal flora can be established.

Exploring The Architectural History of the Principality of Monaco

Monaco is a fascinating place to explore the blend between historic architecture and recent modern pieces. With a landscape made up of rocky cliff sides, hills, and a slender coastline within a geographically small terrain, Monaco is capable of embracing their history as well as modern trends in the buildings that reside there.

Monaco’s oldest buildings were influenced by mostly French, Italian, and Spanish characteristics due to its placement in the South East of France. One of the most significant periods of time influencing early Monaco architecture was the Belle Époque period taking place roughly between 1871 - 1914. This period was characterized by their trend in peace, prosperity, incorporating art creativity and optimism. As suggested through its name, it was called the “beautiful era”, focusing on creating beauty and elegance.

A particular building expressing this era would be the Monte Carlo Casino. It applies Art Nouveau characteristics, a style very popular during this time, showcasing curved lines, asymmetry, movement, and naturistic elements such as flowers and plants. The stunning interior contains sculptures, stone carvings, gilded ceilings, skylights, grand chandeliers, paintings, a marble and gold atrium, as well as stained-glass illustrating the history of the Grimaldi’s. Built roughly around 1865, the Casino symbolizes extravagance and luxurious comfort.

Another building reflecting this period is the Hôtel Hermitage Monte Carlo. The Hôtel Hermitage located in the heart of Monaco, was inspired by the Prince of Monaco’s Palace. It embraces a palace style Belle Époque with elegant features and a luxurious structure. Other characteristics making up the Hôtel Hermitage are pastel tones, a fountain, and a glass conservatory in the Winter Garden designed by Gustave Eiffel. In the dining room, named the “Salle Belle Époque” and designed by Gabriel Ferrier, there are pink marble columns, a grand ceiling with paintings and a terrace overlooking the Port of Monaco.

Italian and Spanish influences are seen through the Capriccio movement, involving incorporating dreamlike interpretations of landscape and buildings. This is seen in Monaco through the mix of modern and old structures in harmony where an architectural fantasy is created. Details involving this movement could be caryatids, terraces, and coloured turrets. The intention was to create a romanticized location by combining real structures with fantasy elements as shown in Capriccio paintings. This gave buildings such as the Monte Carlo Casino a more unreal and daydream vision.

Monaco also incorporates Mediterranean influences as seen through the terracotta tiles, marble, public squares, and abundance of balconies in the Principality. Renaissance-era styles are seen in the Prince’s Palace throughout the many rooms and wings. These elements hide the previous brute fortifications of the palace that were necessary during its original construction; however, the back of the palace still showcases the medieval structuring. Many rooms and halls were also inspired by those at the Palace of Versailles, such as the Mirror Gallery taking inspiration from the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. In terms of Renaissance influence, the Monte-Carlo Casino possesses a room called “Salle Renaissance”. It is one of the oldest rooms in Casino and is particularly interesting because of its distinct Renaissance architecture blending in with the current modern lifestyle.

Lately, Monaco has been adding ultra-modern architectural designs in their apartments and skyscrapers, which can be recognized through the use of glass to create a more futuristic style and utilizing high-tech materials. A good example of this is the Odeon Tower, standing at 170 metres making it the tallest building in Monaco. Its most identifiable feature is the way it is entirely covered in glass windows, allowing large amounts of sunlight in. It is vastly different from the surrounding structures that exhibit more historic architecture, and yet, it fits into Monaco’s landscape seamlessly.

With the limited physical space, Monaco has incorporated many important structures into its home. The mix of architecture is incredible to explore and discover, while learning about the history behind it. New projects currently under construction develop a nice blend between the modern world and the eras that created the Monaco existing today. Each building gives insight into an important period of time, carrying its weight and significance to today’s world.

Dmark International - How Artificial Intelligence is Revolutionizing Digital Marketing

Dmark International - How Artificial Intelligence is Revolutionizing Digital Marketing

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most disruptive technologies of our time, and it's having a major impact on the field of digital marketing. In just a few short years, AI has transformed the way businesses interact with customers and reach new audiences, offering powerful new tools and insights that were previously impossible to access.

From chatbots that offer real-time customer support to predictive analytics that help businesses understand their target audience, AI is changing the digital marketing landscape in ways we never thought possible. In this article, we'll explore the ways in which AI is revolutionizing digital marketing, and what businesses need to know to take advantage of these new opportunities.

·      Chatbots

One of the most notable ways that AI is transforming digital marketing is through the use of chatbots. Chatbots are computer programs that use natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to interact with customers in real-time. They can be integrated into a company's website or social media platforms, and are designed to help businesses engage with their customers and answer common questions in an efficient and personalized manner.

Chatbots are particularly useful for businesses that want to offer 24/7 customer support, as they can respond to customer inquiries at any time of the day or night. They also allow businesses to collect data on customer behavior, which can be used to improve their marketing strategies and target customers more effectively.

One example of a business that has successfully used chatbots in its digital marketing strategy is H&M, the Swedish clothing retailer.

H&M launched a chatbot on Facebook Messenger that allowed customers to browse the latest collections, receive recommendations based on their style preferences, and even place an order directly through the chat interface. This approach has helped H&M to offer a more personalized shopping experience and reach a wider audience, and has been well-received by customers.

·      Predictive Analytics

Another way that AI is revolutionizing digital marketing is through predictive analytics. Predictive analytics involves using machine learning algorithms to analyze vast amounts of data and predict future outcomes. In the context of digital marketing, this can be used to better understand customer behavior and preferences, and to develop more effective marketing strategies.

For example, a company may use predictive analytics to determine which marketing channels are most effective in reaching their target audience, or to identify which products are likely to be popular among customers in the future. This information can then be used to optimize the company's marketing budget and focus on the most effective campaigns.

Predictive analytics is particularly useful for businesses that want to reach new audiences and stay ahead of the competition. By using machine learning algorithms to analyze vast amounts of data, companies can gain valuable insights into customer behavior and preferences, and use this information to develop effective marketing strategies that reach their target audience.

·      Better Data-Driven Decision Making

Finally, AI is revolutionizing digital marketing by providing marketers with more data and insights than ever before. With the ability to analyze large amounts of data in real-time, AI algorithms can identify patterns and trends that would be difficult for a human to detect. This allows marketers to make more informed decisions and optimize their campaigns in real-time, leading to improved results and increased ROI.

Whether you're a small business owner looking to optimize your marketing campaigns or a large corporation seeking to stay ahead of the curve, AI has something to offer. By embracing this technology, businesses of all sizes can stay competitive in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Contact us at Dmark International to understand the best way to implement AI in your company’s digital marketing.

Ingredifind - A Guide to the Most Popular Diets

INGREDIFIND - A Guide to the Most Popular Diets

If you want to manage your long-term fitness and eat healthier, check out our guide to the most popular diets. Learn below about new diets, what they include and avoid, and how they work.

Devised by Robert Atkins in the 1970s, the Atkins diet, or Atkins nutritional approach, can be used for weight loss, boosting your energy, and improving health problems.

The Atkins Diet believes that eating too many carbs, particularly refined carbs, may lead to health issues. Specifically leading to blood sugar imbalances, weight gain, and heart problems. As a result, this diet focuses on limiting carbs and encourages eating more protein and fat.

While the Atkins diet is not originally vegetarian or vegan, there are adjustments, such as including more high-fiber vegetables to meet those needs.

There are four phases in the Atkins diet: induction, balancing, pre-maintenance, and lifetime maintenance. Exercise is not required in the Atkins diet, but it can help keep your weight steady and offer other health benefits.

Atkins’ book New Diet Revolution has sold 12 million copies and has been described as “the bestselling fad-diet book ever written.”

Based on Southern European foods, the Mediterranean diet is considered exceptionally healthy and has a low risk of many chronic conditions. The Mediterranean diet typically promotes fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds. Processed foods, added sugar, and refined grains should be restricted.

In addition to healthier eating, it promotes weight loss and helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and type 2 diabetes. The Mediterranean lifestyle also involves regular physical activity, sharing meals with other people, and minimizing stress levels.

While including a mix of fresh, frozen, dried, and canned fruits and vegetables is acceptable, avoiding added sugar and sodium is essential.

A pescatarian diet consists of plant-based foods with fish and seafood. Like vegetarians, pescatarians consume a plant-based diet consisting of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and healthy fats and avoid meat and poultry.

Part of this diet includes high consumption of Omega3. It can be found in fatty fish like salmon, sardine, and mackerel and help reduce plaque buildup in the arteries, which can cause heart disease and strokes.

Remember you can filter Ingredifind-partnered menus to see pescatarian dish options.

The raw food diet involves consuming foods and drinks that are unprocessed, entirely plant-based, and ideally organic. Most people who follow the raw food diet eat only plant-based foods. However, some people eat raw or dried meat, too.

There are three general types of raw food diet: raw vegan, raw vegetarian (including raw eggs and unprocessed dairy products), and raw omnivorous.

The diet excludes foods heated beyond a specific temperature, usually somewhere between 40° to 47°C (104° to 118°F). The only heating permitted is a dehydrator, a cooking device that blows hot air across food.

The raw food diet can be interpreted differently; some people eat some cooked food, and others do not. For some people, it is a way of life; for others, it is a dietary choice.

Following a vegetarian diet include eggs, dairy, and all plant-based products. It does not include meat, poultry, fish, or seafood. All Vegetarian dishes are also Pescatarian. However, vegetarianism can be divided further by which animal products are included in a diet:

Lacto-ovo vegetarians who eat eggs and dairy products

Lacto vegetarians who eat dairy products but exclude eggs

Ovo vegetarians who eat eggs but exclude dairy products

There are many benefits to vegetarianism. Researchers noticed long ago that not eating meat may lower blood pressure. It is essential to avoid excess sugar, processed bread, and pasta. Otherwise, you are unlikely to reap the full benefits of a vegetarian diet.

Remember, you can filter Ingredifind-partnered menus to see vegetarian dish options.

Veganism includes all plant-based products. It does not include meat, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, or dairy. All Vegan dishes are also Vegetarian and Pescatarian. Like vegetarianism, veganism can also help lower blood pressure and help maintain a healthy heart. In a vegan diet, your nutrients will rely on eating beans, fruits, nuts, peas, seeds, vegetables and whole grains.

It has been reported from multiple studies that vegan diets provide more antioxidants and fiber. Also, this diet is richer in potassium, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, and E. In addition, vegan diets can help reduce the risk of certain cancers such as prostate, breast, stomach, and colorectal cancer by avoiding certain animal products.

Remember, you can filter Ingredifind-partnered menus to see vegan dish options.

The Zone diet strives for each meal to have a nutritional balance of 40 percent carbohydrates, 30 percent fats, and 30 percent protein. The goal is to optimize and control inflammation from your diet, among other health benefits. Unlike the Atkins diet, The Zone Diet has no specific phases. There are two methods to start the Zone Diet: hand-eye or Zone food blocks.

The hand-eye method is the most common to start. It begins with using your hand to determine portion sizes. Your five fingers remind you to eat five times daily and never go without food for five hours. Your eyes are used to estimate portions on your plate.

The Zone food blocks are an alternative to the hand-eye method. A main meal is usually around 3 to 5 Zone blocks, while snacks are always one. Zone blocks allow you to customize the Zone Diet based on your body. This is achieved by computing the grams of protein, carbs, and fat you should have daily. The amount of Zone blocks you should have per day relies on your weight, height, waist, and hip measurements.

Following a diet can be challenging, especially if you enjoy going to eat out. Learn more about Ingredifind and how our app can help here.

With Ingredifind, you can trust and enjoy the food at your favorite restaurants.

Propiteer Capital - Investing in the Booming UK Hotel Sector

Propiteer Capital - Investing in the Booming UK Hotel Sector

Despite some challenges in recent years, the hospitality sector shows great strength and optimism for the new year. Find out more about industry forecasts and hotel investment opportunities in 2023.

With domestic, tourist, and business travel on the rise, the UK hotel sector has been booming its way out of the pandemic. An industry that once crumbled under the pressures of lockdowns has experienced an impressive recovery over the last few years. But this growth doesn’t come without its headwinds, which are primarily triggered by a looming recession and long-term Covid-19 effects, but the sector remains incredibly resilient as hotel bookings, tradings, and investments stay strong.

Success in 2022

Two years since the eruption of Covid-19, the hospitality industry was set for a successful year in 2022. While offices and retail spaces faced a decline, hotels began an upward trend as people were keen to book holidays again and the rise of staycations began. Even by the end of 2021, a year of lockdowns, the global travel industry grew by an astonishing 4% versus 2020. Propiteer blog

Over the course of the past year, hotel performance has met positive expectations and trading proved to be strong throughout. New hybrid working trends and flexible business travel contributed to a strong recovery, and London in particular fuelled significant growth for the UK with occupancy rates in the capital having achieved 70% between April and October 2022. The year ended in a positive position as regional hotels exceeded their 2019 RevPAR (revenue per available room) figure by 3.5%.

Hotel investments also had a strong start to 2022 and held positive momentum throughout the year. In the January to April 2022 period, UK hotel transaction volumes exceeded £1.5bn, surpassing the H1 2021 volumes by 40% and showing a robust sector recovery. Performance was relatively evenly split between London (approximately £750m) and UK regions (approximately £800m). More online

Challenges in 2023

The hospitality sector has certainly had its challenges over the last few years. The economic struggle in 2022 is one of the factors impacting hotel performance and creating an uncertain outlook for the year ahead with soaring inflation, energy, and rising interest rates all providing considerable headwinds. Rising costs threaten areas such as employment and operations, but the government is due to introduce a new tax relief scheme in 2023, which will keep VAT at its current rate beyond April to support hospitality businesses with the growing costs. BBC News link

Covid-19 has also caused some lingering damage. In the UK, the hospitality sector experienced a loss of £115bn as a result of forced business closures and travel bans for months at a time. Even once hotels, restaurants, and airports started to reopen, some consumer apprehension towards travel remained, which caused a delayed recovery. Nonetheless, hospitality has seen one of the strongest bounce-backs from Covid-19 pressures and defied most expectations.

Optimism for hotels in 2023

“…hospitality can and will be the leading contributor to the UK’s economic recovery” – Pernille Thomsen, UK Hospitality

Despite a looming recession and continued fallout caused by coronavirus, there are signs of hope that make this an exciting time to consider investing in the UK hotel sector.

Business travel is one area that has been bouncing back and contributing to the growth of hotels, and both domestic and international travel are confidently returning to pre-pandemic levels. On average, travel managers estimate that domestic <link: https://www.traveldailymedia.com/business-travel-strong-outlook-in-2023-gbta/> business travel volumes are back to 63% and international back to 50% of pre-pandemic levels, and 2023 growth is expected to surpass that of 2022. Optimism is incredibly strong and neither Covid-19 nor economic implications seem to be stopping industry growth in the new year as 75% of travel buyers claim they won’t be limiting business travel due to economic concerns and only 4% say they may limit business due to Covid-19.

Some of the key forecasts for the UK hotel sector include:

· London RevPAR growth to rise by nearly 6%

· London occupancy to increase by over 8%

· UK regions occupancy to increase by over 2%

Despite the regional RevPAR being anticipated to drop by 0.6% in 2023, Samantha Ward, UK Hotels Leader at PWC, says that “hotels across the UK can weather this latest disruption, emerging stronger and more resilient for the future.”

Hilton hotel growth exceeds expectations

One of the largest and fastest-growing hospitality brands, Hilton, is just one example of the remarkable strength, consumer demand, and investment opportunities within the hotel industry. During Covid-19 recovery in 2021, Hilton’s global growth enabled more than one hotel to be opened per day throughout the year. Hilton’s loyalty programme Hilton Honors also expanded to 128m members, a 13% increase year on year to December 2021. Information link

In Q3 2022, Hilton Worldwide sales increased by 36% year on year, and earnings per share (EPS) reached $1.31, up from $0.78 from the previous year and beating the consensus of $1.24. HLT shares are also up 1.48%. Hilton Worldwide President and CEO Christopher Nassetta comments: “Improved performance reflected the continued strength in leisure travel, as well as recovering business transient and group demand. We expect these strong trends to continue throughout the fourth quarter with system-wide RevPAR once again exceeding prior peaks.” Information link

Hotel investment opportunities in 2023

There are many opportunities for commercial investors to take advantage of in 2023. Here are some of the top UK hotel construction projects to explore:

• Duke Street Hotel Complex, Liverpool, $40m – A former car park is being converted into an eight-storey hotel at 107-125 Duke Street.

• Palace Hotel Redevelopment, Devon, $30m – A 5-star hotel conversion of a former Palace Hotel in Torquay is expected to be completed in late 2023.

• Indigo Hotel Development, Coventry, $25m – A five-storey hotel with 100 rooms in Friargate is due to be completed in Q4 2023.

• Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough City Centre, £26m – A prestigious city-centre hotel with an iconic Sky Bar and key tourist attractions nearby aspires to be the finest Hilton Garden inn in Europe to date.

• Hampton by Hilton Exeter Airport, Devon £23m – With easy links to Exeter airport, this award-winning hotel has a focus on sustainability with new solar panels recently installed. The local area is currently undergoing new travel improvements.

This post was written by Propiteer Capital PLC that works with the Hilton group and provides investment opportunities into new hotel developments around the UK and Ireland. Read more

Feel Good Fridays with Metabolic Balance - The Power of Aromas and Fragrances for the Body and Soul

Near to the bakery goods counter a delightful aroma of freshly baked buns greets the nose – even though the buns are delivered, and not freshly baked at all. In fuel stations there’s a wonderful smell of freshly made coffee, and in travel agencies exotic fragrances bring the Caribbean within touching distance. Inventive marketing strategists discovered long ago what a useful tool the nose can be! Finally, aromas affect our feelings and emotions, evoke memories and consequently influence our (purchasing) decisions.

Today aromas, or fragrances, are no longer the exclusive domain of perfumes or bodycare products. They are also used in air fresheners, scented candles, cleaning and washing products and even in foods – both in natural and synthetically manufactured form. Invisible to customers’ eyes, all kinds of fragrance stream from scent diffusers or air-conditioning systems in department stores, supermarkets and even garden centres without anyone actively noticing it. And when you’ve finished shopping, you wonder at how much stuff you have in your shopping trolley – stuff you didn't actually want.

Fragrances – not always good for you

However, fragrances also trigger intolerances in a large number of people and the trend is rising. After all, many fragrances are known to induce allergies, migraines and even asthma attacks. The most susceptible are people with weakened immune systems and those who already suffer from contact allergies, such as an allergy to nickel.

Aroma therapy for body and soul

Fragrances help heal. Our grandmothers were well aware of that - if they suffered from insomnia, they slipped a little bag of lavender under their pillow. Vanilla and cinnamon, as foods and fragrance, impart a warming feeling of security. Almond and bergamot are thought to be especially relaxing and soothing. Acacia, jasmine and carnations (cloves) have an aphrodisiac effect, while basil and fennel strengthen the nerves.

Fragrances alter, influence and control our human behaviour, unconsciously so in most instances. This is why aroma experts try to liberate us from nervous disorders, tiredness, depression and anxieties with special fragrances. Currently, American olfactory experts are even trying to suppress what are known as “craving attacks” with the aid of odours – perhaps an additional means of getting our weight under control in the future...
